June 26th to June 28th saw 26 athletes, parents, family members and friends volunteer their time to set up for the Subaru Triathlon held June 29th. Everyone of our 5 instructors came out to volunteer their time and our youngest student volunteering was 5 years old. We set up bike stands, tents, filled sand bags, prepared medals and various other duties they needed help with. Subaru makes 5 stops across Canada and Saskatoon has been granted this privilege 2 years in a row. This is our way of “Giving Back To Our Community” and at the same time receiving an honorarium which is determined by the size of our group. Our group split into 2 different days and 3 different locations and each place we went we would hear, “Oh you are that big group from Taekwon-Do!”. It made us feel very good that we were the biggest group to volunteer and that all of the Subaru Staff knew who we were and that we were helping them out so much. Next year we have already agreed our group to volunteer for take down, as this is where most people are needed and the least amount of people volunteer for. Thanks to everyone that came out and helped the Subaru Triathlon be such a great success!
